In just an over a week or so we’ll all be in the midst of festive parties, family gatherings and all the other fun events that Christmas throws at us.
If you’re hosting either friends or family this year, what are you doing to get your home ready? Are you just planning on having a deep clean, or are you using this as a deadline to get some of those nagging home improvement projects out of the way?
According to a survey by B&Q, which was shared by the Mirror, more than half of us plan to carry out some DIY tasks ahead of hosting a festive bash.
Many of the jobs cited are relatively minor projects, such as replacing a broken toilet seat or hanging some new pictures, but one-fifth of those surveyed stated that they’d be painting walls ahead of 25 December.
Other priorities, according to the survey, include hanging curtains, installing insulation and even putting up wallpaper.
You may also want to go shopping for UK internal door sets if you want to give your home a cohesive feel in time for the festive season.
Of course, you may be waiting until the new year to crack on with your home improvement projects and you certainly won’t be alone if this is the case. The Express recently reported on research from Checkatrade, which found that 51 per cent of homeowners are planning to make changes to their abode in the next 12 months.
